Unit 3 Blog Journal

Hello everyone,

In thinking about my physical, spiritual, and psychological well being. I have to say my spiritual and psychological are far higher than my physical. I'd rate those two categories at about 8 or 9. My physical well being is not quite as high. I'd have to rate this around 7. Though physically I have lost about 20 pounds over the last 11 months, I wouldn't say I am in the greatest shape.

A physical goal I'd like to accomplish is to get into better physical shape. I would like to become a certified Zumba instructor.

My spiritual goal is to spend at least the first 20 minutes of my morning in prayer for others. I will do this as soon as I wake up that way I will never forget.

My psychological goal is to try to keep myself in a continual state of happiness by being as positive as possible. Things just seem to go better when you have a positive attitude. Positive thinking is an amazing tool that can keep you focused no matter what's going on around you.

The relaxation exercise was awesome! Nothing about it was frustrating in any way. I have used a similar technique to help me quit smoking cigarettes. However, having gone back to this habit, I can truly appreciate these exercises and perhaps use them in the future to help me kick the habit once again.

  1. I hate to hear that you started your smoking back up after you had quit. I have never started smoking so I don't know how hard it is to quit but I can imagine that its not easy. I believe that if you were strong enough to do it once then I have faith that you can do it again. good luck :)

  2. Hi, Renee.

I find it interesting that your physical goal is to become a fitness instructor. Is Zumba something you have done a lot of in the past? Have you ever taught any fitness classes in the past? I love teaching, and I think this is an excellent way to further your physical fitness goals. The best way to learn and excel at an activity is to teach it. Additionally, having students rely upon you will further increase your motivation to keep up a solid excercise routine.

    Keep up the good work!

  3. Renee,
Mind over matter I like that! This is a ggod way to look at life sometimes we let our mind and emotions control us which can lead to unstable health. I have faith in you and like you said mind over matter means you can do anything you set your mind to believe in yoursel! You will get there with your weight and as a Zumba instructor! Good luck in kicking the habit if I can do it anyone can I strted smoking at about 16 and smoked on and off for many years to relax or so I thought! This only makes things worse because as we all know smoking is bad for your helath in many ways! It deprives youir brain of oxygen for one thing. I think as we get older we learn to appreciaste our bodies and what we are doing to it! When you are not getting any younger you need to focus on your diet calorie in take and blood pressure! You have my support and I hope you achieve all your goals Physically spiritually, and psychologically! Take care
